About the role
As a Software Developer Intern (Backend), you will work with the core engineering team to build and improve the backend systems and APIs that power RevRag AI's products. This is a hands-on role focused on real production code, not demos or prototypes.
You'll learn how to build, test, and ship scalable backend services in a real startup environment, and how our voice and in-app AI agents are wired into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and improve backend features, APIs, and services.
- Work on product workflows involving voice AI and in-app agents.
- Design and work with data models, databases, and integrations.
- Write clean, testable, production-ready code.
- Debug and fix issues, and improve the reliability of existing systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on design and implementation.
- Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions.
- Help with documentation, internal tools, and deployment.
Technical Skills
- Good programming fundamentals, preferably in Python.
- Understanding of data structures, APIs, and web concepts.
- Familiarity with at least one backend framework (FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
- Understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture.
- Ability to debug issues and learn new systems quickly.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Personal or academic projects in backend or web development.
- Exposure to Git, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Basic knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or Redis.
- Understanding of CI/CD, containerization, or deployment pipelines.
- Basic frontend awareness (React, JS/TS) for end-to-end features.
- Curiosity about AI, LLMs, or voice technologies.
