Setting up Your Agent Knowledge Base

Upload product documentation, FAQs, and policy documents so your agent answers accurately.

The agent knowledge base is a curated collection of documents that your AI agent references when answering user questions. Grounding agent responses in your own documentation significantly reduces hallucinations and ensures accuracy in regulated contexts like BFSI.

Supported Document Types

You can upload the following document types to your knowledge base:

  • PDF - product brochures, policy documents, regulatory guidelines
  • DOCX / TXT - internal SOPs, FAQ documents, product specs
  • URLs - public web pages that RevRag AI will crawl and index automatically
  • Structured data - CSV or JSON for pricing tables, product catalogs, or rate cards

Organizing Documents

Group documents into collections to control which agents can access them. For example, your Lending agent should reference your loan product documentation, not your insurance policy PDFs. Collections let you apply this scoping cleanly.

Keeping the Knowledge Base Current

Set up automatic re-indexing for URL sources so the agent always references the latest version of your web content. For PDF and DOCX sources, upload a new version when the document changes - RevRag AI will diff the content and re-index only the changed sections.

Testing Knowledge Base Coverage

Use the Knowledge Base Query Tester in the dashboard to check what documents the agent retrieves for a given question. If the agent returns an incorrect or empty answer for a question your users frequently ask, that is a signal that the relevant document is missing or needs to be rewritten.
